After charming Calgary, Life Chronicles lands in Edmonton — transporting visitors 3.5 billions of years back in time to the early days of Earth’s history. You’ll walk, swim and fly through our planet’s major evolutionary phases — the Archean, Cambrian and Cretaceous eras — where you’ll see the first traces of life, the emergence of animals, dinosaurs and ultimately, human beings.

What can you expect from Life Chronicles in Edmonton?
Life Chronicles is a mesmerizing adventure through the different stages of evolution. Don your VR headset, and find yourself transported to the very start of life: the ozone layer is just forming, oxygen fills the atmosphere, microbes stretch and reproduce… the Earth’s dance has only just begun. Throughout your journey through its various eras, you’ll learn how each ‘small’ moment marked a pivotal turn in the planet’s history — and your own.
Guided by visual researcher Charlie and her robot companion Darwin, the journey promises to be educational and emotional. Walking through a lush forest with giant insects, looking up at an imposing T-Rex, floating with prehistoric marine reptiles… each moment, every interaction, reveals your place in the world.

The Museum’s team of paleontologists, paleobotanists, evolution specialists and bioacousticians worked tirelessly to capture the beauty of our planet in all its forms.
