Horizon of Khufu is a brand new VR experience coming to Edmonton that will unravel some of the past civilization’s most pressing mysteries. Duck through the pyramid of Giza, wander through the mastabas (pharaoh tombs), take in the breathtaking Nile River and learn about the cultural norms of the time period. Created with the help of Harvard research, Horizon of Khufu is a historically accurate voyage through time.

A powerful journey through the Giza necropolis
Your Horizon of Khufu voyage begins at Infinity Experiences (West Edmonton Mall). There, you’ll don your headset and be transported back in time. Immediately, it feels like a parallel universe — the Giza plateau glistens in the early morning light, proudly revealing an undulating Nile River and the palm trees that deck its banks.
Guided by a virtual guide and your fellow participants, you’ll take on the shape of an avatar to trek through the steps of past pharaohs.

Horizon of Khufu was made to be as historically accurate as possible. Crafted in collaboration with egyptology professor Peter Der Manuelian and his team at Harvard, the VR experience makes use of data from their Giza Project to replicate Ancient Egypt in its true form.
